A System Dynamics Approach to Sustainable Business Model Transformation (2022)

Journal of Systems Thinking in Practice, 2022
This study develops a system dynamics model to support decision-making in sustainable business model transformation. Using a real-world case in plastics manufacturing, the model simulates the long-term impacts of key strategic interventions, such as investments in recycling infrastructure, on operational performance and financial viability. By allowing decision-makers to visualize feedback loops, delays, and trade-offs, the model serves as a powerful tool for testing scenarios and anticipating the consequences of sustainability strategies before implementation.

Investigating the Mutual Effects of Mobile Phone Use and Civic Culture: A Systems Approach (2022)

Psychological Research on Urban Society, 2022, Vol. 5(1): 52-65
This study examines how mobile phone usage influences civic culture in Tehran. Utilizing system dynamics, the research identifies ten key factors illustrating the impact of mobile technology on citizen behavior. Findings reveal that while mobile phones enhance civic engagement and information dissemination, they also pose challenges to privacy and social cohesion. These insights are valuable for policymakers aiming to balance technological benefits with cultural stability.

A Survey of the Mutual Effects of Mobile Phone Usage on the Citizenship Culture in Developing Countries (2022)

Journal of Social Studies (JSS), Volume 18, Number 2, 2022: 147-158
This research examines how mobile phone usage influences citizenship culture in developing countries, focusing on Tehran. Utilizing surveys and systems thinking, the study engaged over 390 residents to understand the impact of mobile technology on social interactions and norms. Findings indicate that while mobile phones enhance digital communication and public engagement, they may also reduce face-to-face interactions, acting as both unifiers and disruptors in the sociocultural landscape.

Research Projects
Cognitive System Dynamics | 2025

Cognitive System Dynamics (CSD) is an independent research project I’m developing to explore how cognitive biases shape decision-making in complex systems. It looks at how patterns of thought influence outcomes in areas like public policy, AI fairness, and crisis response. The project is now supported by the Paradigm Dynamics, which serves as its research hub. CSD is a promising approach that aims to offer practical tools for understanding and improving decisions in real-world settings.

NextGen PM Future Labs | 2023 – 2024

The Future Labs is an initiative developed with NextGen PM to explore the future of Project Management. It brings together research and insights across five key areas: emerging trends, future scenarios, evolving roles, upcoming challenges, and innovative solutions that are all shaped by technological, organizational, and societal shifts. With a focus on how developments like AI, sustainability, and global work models are impacting project environments, Future Labs aims to support professionals and organizations in navigating what’s next for project management.

Sustainability Transition Decision Support | 2019 – 2021

In collaboration with SAMAM, I led a system dynamics-based project for a plastics manufacturing firm aimed at evaluating the long-term impacts of sustainability investments. The project resulted in the development of a decision support model that enabled stakeholders to simulate the effects of recycling and operational changes before real-world implementation. The findings were published in a peer-reviewed journal, contributing to the field of sustainable business model transformation.

Socio-economic Effects of Mobile Phone Usage | 2019

At SAMAM research institute, I contributed to a project exploring the societal impact of mobile phone usage in Tehran. Joining mid-project as a researcher, I led the development of two peer-reviewed publications that examined how mobile technology influences civic behavior and everyday urban interactions. The findings offered new insights into the intersection of digital tools and social change in rapidly evolving metropolitan contexts.

Congruent Technologies | 2012

This was my first formal engagement in a strategic foresight project, conducted under the supervision of Professor Mohsen Bahrami at the Futures Studies Research Institute, Amirkabir University of Technology. I contributed to both the qualitative and quantitative dimensions of the study, participating in the design and implementation of a three-stage Delphi process, and supporting data analysis to assess the future impact of emerging technologies. The project, part of a broader Millennium Project initiative, served as a foundational experience in applied foresight research.
